I have the pleasure of being commisioned by the Directors of the Philharmonic Society, to enquire whether there is any probability of your visiting England in the course of the approaching Season and how far they may indulge in the expectation of your having produced any new Compositions for Orchestra, as well as to request that should there be any novelties in the shape of symphonies or Ouvertures by other authors, you would do them the favour of pointing out such as you may deem fit for our Concerts.
The front scarcity of vocal talent indures them to trespass still farther on your kindness in begging to be informed whether there are any Soprano or Tenor Singers with whom you consider it would eligible to make engagements. Having no other friend in your part of the Continent on whom judgement they could so completely rely, they hope will be an apology for occasioning you so much trouble
