The Gloucester Festival begins next Tuesday, with a Sermon & Anthem, and on Wednesday St Paul is to be performed. Miss Birch a very clever young singer, is to take the principal soprano part. I am quite sure to have my song, and Phillips, his Israel in Egypt, with the Messiah, and a miscellaneous act, will form the rest of the morning performances. Grisi, Albertazzi, and Lablache, are engaged. It is expected to be very funny. I do not know how it is, but I am intended to write you very few lines, and you see my paper is already warning me to leave off. When I once begin my chit-chat to you I never know when to finish. By the way you must prepare for a very severe reprimand from me when we meet, for your very bad behaviour about my song.
