The only excuse I can make for the great liberty I am taking in troubling you with this letter is the remembrance of the great kindness you showed me during your stay in England and the encouragement you gave me exspecting my Talent. I am anxious to have the pleasure of renewing your acquaintance, and therefore adopt this method of doing so, and also of remending you of the promise you made me, that you would compose a Song suitable to my voice, and which I could sing at the Philharmonic. I generally have the honour of singing at two of these Concerts during the season, and I need scarely add how proud I should feel, mere you to put your promise into excecution, and favour me by granting my request. I believe the first Philharmonia is fixed for the 5th of March. I have been singing most successfully at an immense number of Coventry Concerts and am about to set off very soon for Edinburgh and Glasgow. I sing twice at Birmingham this month and I do not expect to settled at home until nearly the end of Jany. We are looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you next year in Germany. Mr Shaw is quite determined to go if it is at all possible to arrange it. The Winter has began very mildly here, and I hope it will not be so severe as the last. The next season ist expected to be an most brilliant one.
