I have sent you an outline of the Scheme for our Festival – I wrote a short time ago a letter to you at Frankfort which I hope you received as it contained my plans that the Committee of management might not approve of your conducting your Oratorio at a Meeting in London the week before our Festival – which turns out to be the case and I suppose in another Part you will receive a letter from the Chairman upon the subject – I advise you by all means to decline it and lay the blame of the disappointment upon our Committee – you probably are not yet arrived but I have directed for you at Mr Klingemann – who will deliver it when you arrive – please to give me a line soon after you receive this and tell me when I shall have the pleasure of seeing you. I have a bed and every thing prepared for you under my roof – with the hope of seeing you very soon
