Until the very last moment of my stay I thought I could find a moment to call and thank you in person for your kind and friendly recollection. But I find it now impossible, the few days of my residence in London having been entirely taken up with business & bustle, and I must hope for better and more quiet days when I shall be able not only to see but also to enjoy those dear friends, I have in this country. Accept my best & most cordial thanks for having remembered me, give my sincere wishes to your son, my wishes for his health and happiness as a man, and his well deserved successes as an artist, and believe me always to remain, my dear Sir, yours most sincerely
