Leipzig, 27th Sept. 1836. Dear Sir I am extremely sorry not to have heard from you since your departure from the Hague, when you promised to let me have an answer to many questions and some news of the performance of my Oratorio, for which I waited all the time of my residence in Frankfurt, but in vain. I am the more sorry for it, as Mr. Simrock from Bonn acquaints me, that he has not yet received the score of the 2d part, and not even the final Chorus (arrangement) which you expressly promised me to send back to him no … a fortnight. This is very disagreeable to him and to me … of the arrangement … day of which was fixed for the … of October, is delayed, & … loss of time gives great uneasiness to the German publisher, who promised several copies for that day You were also to write me about the Liverpool performance, in order that I could write to Sir George Smart and tell him my wishes in that respect. I cannot do it now, as I do not even know whether the performance is to take place or not. I send however the „Metronome“ which you wanted to have, as it would be too late, if I waited still longer with it. I beg you to send immediately the arrangement of the final Chorus (with the vocal Parts of course) to Mr. Simrock at Bonn, & to let him have back the Score of the 2d Part, which he gave you, as soon as possible. …
