Accept my thanks for your very kind letter and the invitation by which you have honoured me. I should be most happy if my assistance could be of any use to you but unfortunately I am not able to anticipate that pleasure, as I shall not visit London this spring. My occupations will not allow me this year to be absent from here for more than a few days, and I must look out for another year, and a less busy time, when I hope to find an opportunity to thank you in person for your very kind and flattering letter; I need not express to you how much I regret not to visit your country, for you know how great a pleasure it always gives to me, but as it is impossible this year I must also loose the pleasure of assisting at a Concert which as it appears will be of so great an attraction, and wishing you every success to it believe me

yours trulyFelix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
