Accept my thanks for the music you most kindly sent me and from which I anticipate the greatest pleasure. I shall be able to return it in a few days, as for the present the fashionable complaint keeps me at home and affords me time for playing it over very soon.
I am extremely sorry I shall not be able to accept your kind invitation for this day fortnight, as on that day I must at all events have left London and be on my road to the Rhine. My departure will take place most probably on the 15th already, any day before it excepted the 8th and the 10th I should be most happy to avail myself of your kind permission. –

Dear Madam Accept my thanks for the music you most kindly sent me and from which I anticipate the greatest pleasure. – Fidelio is most certainly performed once more in the course of next week, and even I think the following performances will be better than the first ones; I am rather partial in saying this, as an engagement would deprive me on Monday of the pleasure of going with you, and as I am at liberty every other night of next week, when I hope you will allow me to accompany you & to serve as an interpreter. Believe me, dear Madamvery truly yours Felix Mendelssohn B. Mai 4th103 Gt Portland St
